About the course

A four-year, full-time course that trains dance performers in contemporary, social, urban and non-Western dance, along with somatic techniques, composition, dance history and arts entrepreneurship. It is a practical, career-focused degree at an arts academy, with regular performances and, for most of fourth year, an internship with a dance company or freelance project.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The institution assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • Admission is by audition. Pre-selection is by video or live (two set phrases plus a free solo of up to 1 minute), followed by two live selection rounds in Amsterdam.
  • Dutch is not required for dance programmes at this academy. The programme page gives the teaching language as Dutch and English; the admission page says instructions and materials are in English.
