About the course

A practical, career-focused environmental science degree that combines biology and chemistry with management and technology. From year 1, students choose projects on biology and nature-based solutions or on chemistry and innovative technology, and in year 3 they specialise in sustainable energy and resource recovery or in water management, ecosystems and climate change.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The institution assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • Maths is expected: Avans asks Dutch Culture & Society students for Mathematics A or B, and strongly recommends English, Mathematics B and chemistry at Dutch HAVO level for vocational applicants. Leaving Cert Maths and Chemistry are therefore advised. Avans checks your level.
  • A separate English language requirement applies. See the Avans English language requirements page.
