About the course

This is a 3-year, 180 ECTS Bachelor of Arts taught only in English at the Brussels School of Governance on the VUB campus in Etterbeek, Brussels. The course covers business, management, entrepreneurship and the global economy. It also teaches analytical and data skills, including Python and the use of AI tools. Students can specialise in areas such as global trade, sustainability and digital business. Classes are small and assessment is continuous. The final year includes a Capstone project and, where it applies, an internship. The degree is awarded by Vesalius College and accredited by the NVAO, the Dutch-Flemish accreditation body.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The school’s table of accepted secondary diplomas lists the Irish Leaving Certificate (and the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) as an accepted entry qualification. No SAT or ACT is needed. Admission is ‘selective and holistic’. The school looks at your school results, your English and your motivation, shown through your CV and extracurricular activities. It does not publish minimum Leaving Cert grades or points.
  • No specific Maths level or subject requirement is published for this programme. You can apply during 6th year with predicted results. Any offer is conditional on your final diploma, transcript and the required grades before the programme starts.
  • All teaching is in English. For the BA, the accepted English tests and minimum scores are TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS Academic 6.5, Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency grade C, Duolingo 110 or ITACE B2. The admission page says you need a test only if you studied for less than three years in a secondary school that taught through English. So most students from English-medium Irish schools should be exempt, but confirm this with Admissions. Students from Irish-medium schools (Gaelscoileanna) will probably need a test.

Costs

  • Tuition is EUR 7,500 per semester, which is EUR 15,000 for a full academic year. The same fee applies to EEA and non-EEA students. This is a private-style fee, not the low Flemish public university fee. On top of this there is a non-refundable EUR 90 application fee. If you are accepted, you pay a EUR 1,000 pre-registration deposit, which is taken off your tuition. Merit-based Academic Excellence Scholarships can cut tuition by up to 50%. The scholarship deadline for Fall entry is 1 March. The fee shown was on the school’s tuition page in September 2026. Check that it still applies for 2027/28.
This course is not a standard VUB faculty bachelor. It is run by the Brussels School of Governance on the VUB campus, and the degree is awarded by Vesalius College. The fee is EUR 15,000 a year for everyone, including EU students, so it costs far more than a regular Flemish university bachelor. There is also a Spring intake, with an EEA deadline of 30 November.
