About the course

A five-year Master’s degree in Pharmacy taught in English: 9 semesters followed by a 6-month pre-diploma clerkship. Bulgarian is a compulsory subject in the first two years.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. Its general rule is that applicants must have studied Biology and Chemistry at school with an average of at least 62% of the maximum mark, and a NACID certificate of completed secondary education is required.
  • Online entrance tests in Biology and Chemistry, plus an English diagnostic test. Score = Biology x3 + Chemistry x3 + English mark, maximum 42, minimum 21.
  • English: the diagnostic test requires at least B1 level. The FAQ says native English speakers do not need to sit the English exam, so confirm with admissions.

Working in Ireland afterwards

A pharmacy degree from an EU/EEA member state that fully meets the Directive 2005/36/EC minimum training requirements (Article 44) can be recognised automatically. If you started your studies before the Directive’s reference date, you also need 3 consecutive years of professional experience within the last 5 years. Recognition is step one and PSI registration is step two: recognition alone does not let you practise, and you must also prove competence in English. EU law allows countries to limit EU-qualified pharmacists from running newly opened pharmacies, and we could not confirm on the PSI website whether Ireland does this. If you plan to be the supervising or superintendent pharmacist in a pharmacy, check with the PSI.

  3. Submit documentsSend the signed application form, Leaving Certificate and transcript, NACID certificate, proof of your right to enter higher education, passport copy and four photos, on paper and on a flash drive. The 2026 deadline was 11 September.
  4. Enrol after rankingIf you are admitted, enrol within the announced window and pay the first year’s fee.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: 2026 cycle: online registration opened 2 March 2026. Online entrance tests were held on 15 April, 15 May, 16 June, 17 July and 18 August 2026, with a re-sit on 4 September; registration closed about a week before each date. Documents were due by 11 September 2026. The minimum score in the 15 September 2026 ranking was 29.64, and all Pharmacy places were filled by the final ranking on 24 September 2026. 2027 dates are not yet published..

Costs

  • EUR 6,200 per year for the English-taught Pharmacy programme in 2026/27. The university publishes one fee for its English programmes and does not list a lower EU rate. Entrance test fees: EUR 300 per standard exam date (EUR 30 data processing plus EUR 270 for the tests), or EUR 400 for the September re-sit; non-refundable after the registration deadline. The 2027/28 fee has not yet been published.
A pharmacy degree from an EU country that fully meets the Directive 2005/36/EC minimum training requirements can be recognised automatically, but you must then register separately with the PSI and prove competence in English; check with the PSI if you plan to be a supervising or superintendent pharmacist. Bulgarian is compulsory in the first two years.
