About the course

A five-year, 300-ECTS BDS taught in English in Nicosia, following ADEE curriculum standards. Training uses EUC’s own facilities, including patient simulators, a haptic simulator lab, a digital dentistry lab and an on-campus dental clinic.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm. For international applicants EUC asks for an average grade corresponding to 90% or above or its equivalent, with Biology plus one of Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics.
  • No written entrance exam. You apply with your school results and a reference sent directly by the issuing institution to dentistry@euc.ac.cy. The Dentistry programme reserves the right to interview applicants.
  • English: EUC accepts secondary schooling taught in English, or IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79 or PTE Academic 66. Dentistry applicants must provide official proof, so ask Admissions what document they want from an Irish school.

Working in Ireland afterwards

A dental degree from an EU member state that is listed in the EU Professional Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC, as amended) can be recognised automatically by the Dental Council of Ireland. To get this, you provide a certificate from your home country’s competent authority confirming the degree meets the Directive’s minimum training conditions, plus proof of English-language proficiency. EU dental degrees that do not qualify for automatic recognition may instead be assessed under the Directive.
