About the course

A business degree in which students can take a concentration in Marketing and Digital Communications, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Global Management and Leadership, Data Analytics for Economics and Finance, or Accounting, Finance and ESG. It is taught in English at a private university in Prague.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • AAU does not publish specific Leaving Certificate grade rules. Recognition of your foreign school-leaving certificate is required for full admission to any accredited Czech degree. AAU says it handles this in-house at no extra cost; applicants whose documents do not meet its criteria must go through state nostrification at Prague City Hall (CZK 3,000 fee, 30 to 60 days, possible oral exams in Czech). Plan for an apostille or notarised copies of your Leaving Cert and confirm the details with AAU admissions.
  • Every applicant has an interview with the Dean, held online via Google Meet for applicants outside Prague. AAU says it gives a decision within one week of the interview.
  • English at B2 level is required, shown by IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 72, CAE 160 or similar; Duolingo is not accepted. AAU offers a waiver to applicants whose secondary education was in an English-speaking country, which should cover students with an Irish Leaving Cert, but confirm this with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineSend the AAU online application with your school results and passport. There is no fixed deadline, but apply in spring 2027 to leave time for everything else.
  2. Dean’s interviewTake the online interview with the Dean. AAU says it gives a decision within one week.
  3. Recognition of the Leaving CertOnce results come out in late August 2027, get an apostille or notarised copies of your Leaving Cert and send them to AAU for its in-house recognition. If AAU says you need nostrification, apply to Prague City Hall straight away, as it can take 30 to 60 days.
  4. Pay and enrolPay the first semester’s tuition (about EUR 5,185, likely more for 2027 entrants) and arrange housing in Prague before the Fall 2027 semester starts.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: AAU accepts applications all year on a rolling basis. Students who do not need a visa, such as Irish and EU citizens, can apply up to one week before the semester starts. Apply well before that so the Dean’s interview and the recognition of your Leaving Cert can be finished in time for the Fall 2027 start..

Costs

  • EU/EFTA students pay CZK 125,489 (about EUR 5,185) per semester in 2026/27, about EUR 10,370 a year and CZK 752,934 (about EUR 31,110) for the full six-semester degree. Fees are set in Czech koruna, so the euro amount changes with the exchange rate. AAU says prices are expected to rise by 5% for new students starting after 31 August 2026, so 2027 entrants should expect to pay more. The application fee is not published on the pages checked.
AAU is a private university that charges about EUR 10,400 a year, more than most English-taught programmes at Czech public universities. Your Leaving Cert must also be formally recognised before you are fully admitted, so leave time after results come out in August.
