About the course

A three-year, full-time Bachelor’s degree taught in English that trains paramedical health professionals in physiotherapy. The faculty says graduates can provide physiotherapy in preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative care. They work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres and sports facilities.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. You must have completed secondary education. A foreign school-leaving qualification must also be recognised, either by nostrification or by the faculty’s own assessment for a fee (990 CZK in 2026). Proof of recognition had to be posted to the faculty by 30 June in the 2026 cycle.
  • Entrance exam: an interview, which can be held online via Microsoft Teams. It scores your motivation letter (0-5 points), your English (0-10) and your analysis of a professional text (0-10). You need at least 15 of the 25 points.
  • English: you must submit an internationally recognised English certificate. Your English is also tested at the interview. The university does not state a minimum certificate level.
  • Other documents: CV, a recommendation letter, a medical fitness report from a GP and proof of hepatitis B and measles vaccination. Documents must be in English or Czech, or officially translated into one of them.

Working in Ireland afterwards

Physiotherapy is not covered by automatic recognition. CORU checks each EU/EEA physiotherapy qualification against its Standards of Proficiency, and you need a letter of recognition before you can apply to join the Physiotherapists Register. If your training does not fully match, CORU can offer a compensation measure: a supervised adaptation period in Ireland or an aptitude test. EU/EEA-qualified physiotherapists with EU rights can also apply through the European Professional Card (EPC) route.
