About the course

An interdisciplinary economics and management degree covering general economics, management, finance, accounting and agricultural economics, plus law, statistics, operations research and informatics. It is taught full time in English over six semesters and ends with a state final exam in General Economics, Fundamentals of Management and Quantitative Methods.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • CZU does not publish a Leaving Cert grade list. After admission, the faculty runs an internal evaluation of your foreign secondary education (fee CZK 900). It needs hard copies of officially legalised documents, sent by post or courier. English-language documents such as the Leaving Cert need no translation. For Irish documents this usually means an apostille. Provisional certificates or a confirmation of graduation are accepted, but the evaluation must be finished before registration, so confirm timing with admissions.
  • Admission is decided by the online General Academic Prerequisites (GAP) test in mathematics and English, run by SCIO. You get one attempt, and SCIO charges its own fee.
  • No separate English certificate is listed. Your English is tested in the GAP test.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineCreate an e-application on the CZU portal between 15 September 2026 and 31 March 2027, and pay the application fee by the deadline.
  2. Sit the GAP testBook and sit SCIO’s online General Academic Prerequisites test in maths and English between January and mid-April 2027. You get one attempt only.
  3. Prepare your Leaving Cert documentsArrange apostilled copies of your Leaving Cert early. Once admitted, send the hard copies by post and pay the CZK 900 internal evaluation fee, using provisional results if needed.
  4. EnrolComplete enrolment between July and September 2027 once the evaluation is done. Classes begin 27 September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Applications open 15 September 2026 and close 31 March 2027 (application fee must be paid by the deadline). The online GAP test (maths and English) is sat between January and mid-April; only one attempt is allowed. Results come about two weeks after each test date. Enrolment runs July to September and study begins 27 September 2027. Your foreign-certificate evaluation must be completed before registration..

Costs

  • EU students pay CZK 12,500 a year (about €500; the fee is charged in Czech crowns so the euro amount varies with the exchange rate). Non-EU students pay CZK 50,000. One-off costs: an application fee (CZK 850 per application on the faculty’s 2026/27 admissions page; the university’s international page quotes CZK 500, so check the current figure), the separate SCIO fee for the GAP entrance test, and a CZK 900 internal evaluation fee for foreign school-leaving certificates, paid after admission.
Fees are very low for EU students (about €500 a year), but you must pass the one-attempt GAP test by mid-April. Your Leaving Cert evaluation must also be complete before registration, and results only come out in late August, so post your documents as soon as you have them.
