About the course

A 4-year full-time Bachelor (Bc.) in physiotherapy, taught in English at the Faculty of Health Sciences in Olomouc. Clinical practice with real patients starts in the spring semester of the second year.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The university assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • Online entrance exam: a multiple-choice written test in human biology and natural science (one point per correct answer), plus an interview. The university’s web page does not state the pass mark; check the admission conditions for your year.
  • English at B1 (CEFR) or higher: accepted proof includes Cambridge PET/FCE, IELTS 5 (at least 4 in each part), TOEFL iBT 40 or BULATS 60, and applicants whose previous studies were in English are exempt; otherwise you sit the university’s English test.

Working in Ireland afterwards

Physiotherapy is not covered by automatic recognition. CORU checks each EU/EEA physiotherapy qualification against its Standards of Proficiency, and you need a letter of recognition before you can apply to join the Physiotherapists Register. If your training does not fully match, CORU can offer a compensation measure: a supervised adaptation period in Ireland or an aptitude test. EU/EEA-qualified physiotherapists with EU rights can also apply through the European Professional Card (EPC) route.

Physiotherapy is not covered by automatic recognition in Ireland: CORU assesses each EU/EEA qualification against its Standards of Proficiency and may require an adaptation period or aptitude test before you can join the Physiotherapists Register. The course is in English, but the faculty stresses Czech communication skills because you work with real patients from the spring of second year.
