About the course

An English-taught degree covering the molecular and cellular mechanisms of life, including biomolecules, metabolism, genetics and gene expression, and their biomedical applications. Students do hands-on research throughout, a mandatory two-month internship (or a start-up option) and a Bachelor thesis in the sixth semester.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Germany’s recognition rules (KMK/anabin) give Leaving Cert holders direct entry to science courses only with six subjects, including two languages and Maths, two at Higher Level with H5 or better and the rest at H6/O6 or better, plus Higher Level Maths at H5 and a Higher Level science at H5. Constructor University does not publish Irish-specific rules, so confirm with admissions.
  • Constructor does not require SAT/ACT for admission, but says students whose school qualification does not give direct German university entry may have to take a standardised test before enrolling. Applications are assessed on school transcripts, motivation statement and CV; a recommendation letter is optional.
  • English: proof is required (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge or Duolingo 110) unless you are a native English speaker or were taught exclusively in English for at least 6 years, which normally covers Irish school leavers. Confirm the waiver with admissions.
