About the course

A three-year (180 ECTS), English-taught BSc that studies human behaviour by looking at biological, psychological and socio-cultural factors and how they interact. It includes required methods modules such as Applied Statistics with R and Data Collection and Empirical Research Methodologies. It is taught on Constructor University’s residential campus in Bremen.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Germany’s recognition rules (KMK/ZAB) give the Leaving Certificate direct university entry only if you have the right subjects and levels. You need six subjects, with at least two at Higher Level at H5 or better and the other four at O6/H6 or better. The six must include two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. Some subject areas ask for more. For example, social sciences need Higher Level Maths at H5, and science needs Higher Level Maths plus a Higher Level science at H5. Constructor University says that if your school qualification does not give direct entry to a German university, you may need SAT/ACT scores to enrol. Confirm with admissions how psychology is classed and how your subjects are treated. LCA and LCVP are not accepted.
  • There is no entrance exam. Admissions looks at your whole application: school transcripts, a CV, a motivation statement and proof of English, plus an optional recommendation letter and optional test scores. SAT/ACT is not needed for the admission decision. It may be needed to enrol if your Leaving Cert does not give direct entry, and students admitted on that condition can sit the test on campus in October or December.
  • English: native English speakers and anyone taught in English for six or more years can get a waiver, so most Irish-schooled applicants should not need a test. Otherwise the minimums are IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90 or Duolingo 110.

How to apply

  3. Apply early onlineApply on the Constructor University portal between 1 October 2026 and 1 February 2027 for early action. Rolling admissions stay open until 15 July 2027.
  4. Accept and plan costsDecisions take 2-4 weeks. Budget about EUR 23,850 a year in tuition plus fees, campus housing and meals, and check what academic scholarship you are offered.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Autumn 2027 entry: early action runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027, and rolling admissions from 2 February to 15 July 2027. Decisions usually arrive 2-4 weeks after you apply..

Costs

  • The university’s undergraduate financing page lists the 2027/28 cost of attendance as tuition of EUR 11,925 per semester (EUR 23,850 a year), plus up to EUR 350 per semester in university fees and the semester ticket, and a one-off enrolment fee of EUR 640 for EU students. All students are considered for an academic achievement scholarship based on school grades of up to EUR 10,000; the page does not say whether this is per year or in total. First-year students live on campus: the programme page lists a shared room at EUR 4,000 for September to May. Meals are extra. No application fee was found.
This is a private university charging about EUR 23,850 a year in tuition for 2027/28. It is not a tuition-free German public university. A merit scholarship of up to EUR 10,000 can reduce the cost.
