About the course

A three-year, 180-credit degree taught in English on building autonomous systems, covering robotics, automation, AI, control systems, computer vision, machine learning and embedded systems. It includes practical coursework, a mandatory two-month internship between second and third year, and a study abroad window in the fifth semester.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Constructor may require SAT or ACT scores before you enrol if your school-leaving qualification does not give direct admission to a German university. Under German rules the Leaving Certificate gives direct entry to engineering only if you have six subjects (two at Higher Level H5 or better, the other four at O6/H6 or better, including two languages and Maths), plus Higher Level Maths at H5 and a Higher Level science at H5. Constructor publishes nothing specific to the Leaving Cert, so confirm with admissions.
  • SAT/ACT is not required for the admission decision itself. Admission looks at school transcripts, a CV, a motivation statement and proof of English. A recommendation letter is optional unless requested.
  • English: you do not need an English test if you are a native English speaker or have been taught only in English for at least six years. Otherwise you need IELTS 6.5 or an accepted TOEFL iBT or Duolingo (110) score.
