About the course

A three-year programme taught in English for students who already program, often through olympiads and contests. It covers software development, data analysis and machine learning. Year one lays foundations in maths and programming, and year three brings specialisation, an internship and a thesis.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Constructor University publishes no rules specific to Ireland. Under German rules (KMK/ZAB), the Leaving Cert gives direct university entry only if you have six subjects, at least two at Higher Level with H5 or better and the rest at H6/O6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. For this course (the maths/science/engineering area), you also need Higher Level Maths at H5 or better and a Higher Level science at H5 or better. Confirm with admissions.
  • The programme is aimed at high achievers with prior programming experience or a record in computer science, maths, programming or physics competitions. No separate entrance test or interview is published. SAT/ACT may be needed before enrolment only if your Leaving Cert does not give direct German university entry.
  • English: the test can be waived for native speakers, for applicants taught only through English for at least six years, and for anyone with SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing of 600+ or ACT Writing of 9+. Otherwise you need IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, Duolingo 110 or Cambridge Advanced/Proficiency (grade C or better).
