About the course

A 3-year (6-semester, 180 ECTS) interdisciplinary degree taught in English that combines law, political science and business administration/economics. It includes a semester abroad in the third year and 8 weeks of internships in the summer months.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • EBS asks for a general higher education entrance qualification. Under German rules the Leaving Certificate only counts if you have six subjects: at least two at Higher Level H5 or better, the rest at H6/O6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. Law needs nothing extra, but economics and social sciences require Higher Level Maths at H5, so check with EBS admissions how they classify this course.
  • Selection: a 30-minute online knowledge test, a personality test of about 20 minutes and a 30-minute personal interview. SAT, ACT or Gaokao results can replace the EBS tests. A decision follows within a week of the interview.
  • English: EBS accepts IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge, Pearson or Duolingo. It may admit native speakers, or those schooled entirely in English, without a certificate, so Irish applicants should confirm with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsConfirm your Leaving Cert subject mix meets German rules. Taking Higher Level Maths keeps every option open.
  2. Apply onlineSubmit the EBS online application with your CV and current results, ideally before 30 June 2027.
  3. Tests and interviewComplete the online tests (or send SAT/ACT results) and the 30-minute interview.
  4. Sign the study contractOnce you are offered a place, sign the study contract. Enrol by 28 February to get the €500 early enrolment reduction.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: EBS states that it has no application deadlines and admits on a rolling basis. It recommends applying before 30 June for the autumn term and before 30 November for the spring term. Visa applicants should apply by 30 May or 15 October. The published autumn start is 24 August 2026; the 2027 date has not been published, so confirm it with EBS..

Costs

  • EBS is a private university. Tuition is €8,750 per semester (€17,500 a year). EBS gives the full 6-semester cost as €54,480, all fees included. You get €500 off tuition if you enrol by 28 February for the autumn term. No application fee is mentioned.
This is a private university costing about €54,480 over three years. The law content does not on its own qualify you to practise law in Ireland.
