About the course

A three-year, English-taught business degree covering management, accounting, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship with an international focus. The major is combined with a minor of your choice (English-taught options include Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence and Economics-related choices), the Leuphana Semester and Complementary Studies. A double-degree option is also listed.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Germany’s rules (KMK/ZAB on anabin) give Leaving Cert holders direct entry only with the right subjects: six general subjects, including two languages and Maths (at least O5/H6), with at least two Higher Level subjects at H5 or better and the rest at H6/O6 or better. For business and economics you also need Higher Level Maths at H5 or better. Leuphana publishes nothing Ireland-specific, so confirm with the Leuphana Information Office.
  • Admission is restricted and uses Leuphana’s own procedure: your school-leaving grade (up to 30 points), the compulsory study skills test (up to 24 extra points) and extracurricular achievements are combined into a ranking list. Check the current rules on the Leuphana admission pages.
  • English proof is required. Leuphana accepts a certificate from an English-speaking school that entitles you to study in that country, so the Leaving Cert should normally count; otherwise IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL 90 or Cambridge B2 First 175 (or equivalent). Confirm with admissions. No German is required for the major.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsMake sure your Leaving Cert meets the German rules, including Higher Level Maths at H5 or better for business.
  2. Apply on myCampusCreate a myCampus account and apply between mid-May and 15 July 2027 (confirm dates), uploading your Leaving Cert, passport, English proof if needed and evidence of extracurricular activities.
  3. Take the study skills testThe test is compulsory: sit it free on campus or online for a fee (EUR 150 and 20 July in the 2026 cycle). Check the 2027 dates.
  4. Accept your offerWatch myCampus and your email for an offer, accept it, pay the semester contribution and start in October 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Applications for the winter semester open in mid-May and close on 15 July; expect 15 July 2027 for October 2027 entry, but confirm once the 2027 dates are published. The compulsory study skills test follows; in 2026 the online test ran on 20 July (on-campus sessions were offered from mid-May). 2027 test dates are not yet published..

Costs

  • No tuition fees. You pay only the semester contribution, currently EUR 452.92 per semester (roughly EUR 906 a year); confirm the 2027 amount. The compulsory study skills test is free on campus; the online version cost EUR 150 in 2026.
There is no tuition, only a semester contribution of about EUR 453, but you need Higher Level Maths at H5 or better for German recognition of a business degree. Pick an English-taught minor if you want to study entirely in English.
