About the course

A six-semester (180 ECTS) Bachelor of Arts in Media Management with a specialisation in brand management, offered in English on campus in Berlin or Munich (there is also a separate German-language version). Specialisation modules include Media Planning and Targeting, Campaigning and Crossmedia, and Performance Marketing and Social Media.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Macromedia asks for a certified, recognised school-leaving certificate that gives university entry. Under German (KMK/anabin) rules the Leaving Cert needs six subjects: two at Higher Level at H5 or better, the other four at O6/H6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. If media management is treated as business/economics, Higher Level Maths at H5 may also be required. Confirm with Macromedia admissions.
  • The admission page lists no entrance test or interview. You apply with a CV, a motivation letter, a copy of your passport or ID, your school certificate and proof of English.
  • English: proof of English is required, such as TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 6.0 or the Burlington VTest. The admission page does not say whether Leaving Cert English is accepted instead, so check with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsTake Higher Level Maths if you can, aim for H5 or better, and make sure you meet the German six-subject rule.
  2. Sort English proofAsk admissions whether they accept Irish schooling. If not, take TOEFL iBT (72 or more), IELTS (6.0 or more) or the Burlington VTest.
  3. Apply onlineSubmit Macromedia’s online application with your CV, motivation letter, passport/ID and results, choosing Berlin or Munich, by summer 2027.
  4. Sign the study contractSign and return the study contract and pay the €699 registration fee and tuition before the October 2027 start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Macromedia admits students on a rolling basis, with starts in April (summer) and October (winter). Its admission page gives 1 October and 1 April as deadlines, which can be extended in exceptional cases. For the 2026 intake the programme page asked applicants to apply by 30 September for the October start. October 2027 appears as a start option, but separate 2027 deadlines have not been published, so apply well ahead of the end of September 2027..

Costs

  • The official programme page and the winter 2026 international price list give €6,000 per semester (€12,000 a year, €36,000 in tuition over six semesters) plus a one-off registration fee of €699. EU and non-EU students pay the same. The university mentions payment plans, scholarships and loans. The price list says prices can change without notice, so confirm the fee for 2027 entry. Rent in Berlin or Munich is extra.
This is a private university costing €6,000 a semester plus a €699 registration fee (2026 price list). If German rules treat it as a business course, Ordinary Level Maths could block entry, so take Higher Level Maths if you can.
