About the course

A six-semester (180 ECTS) fashion design degree taught in English at the Berlin campus. There is no numerus clausus, so the number of students admitted is not capped. Ask the university for the detailed module list.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Germany: the Leaving Cert gives direct university entry only with the subject combination German rules require: six subjects, at least two at Higher Level H5 or better, the other four at O6/H6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. Macromedia asks for a school leaving certificate that gives university entrance, but does not publish Irish-specific rules, so confirm with admissions.
  • It is not confirmed whether this course needs a portfolio. Ask admissions, as Macromedia’s design courses such as Media Design do ask for one.
  • English: Macromedia’s general admission page lists TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 6.0 or Burlington VTest. Its design pages ask for these only from applicants without English-language schooling. Confirm with admissions whether Irish students schooled through English are exempt.
