Entry requirements for Irish students

  • German rules say the Leaving Certificate gives direct university entry only with the right subjects and levels. You need six subjects, including two languages and Maths. At least two subjects must be at Higher Level at H5 or better, and the other four at O6/H6 or better. For engineering you also need Higher Level Maths at H5 and a Higher Level science at H5. LCA and LCVP are not accepted. SRH publishes no Irish-specific rules, so confirm with admissions.
  • SRH says there is no numerus clausus. Its general admissions process includes an interview after your documents are reviewed.
  • SRH asks for proof of English through tests such as TOEFL or IELTS ‘or comparable certificates’. Ask admissions whether Leaving Cert English is accepted.

This is a private university that charges EUR 790 a month for 3.5 years plus a EUR 750 enrolment fee. As a B.Eng. it is likely to fall under the German engineering rule, so Higher Level Maths and a Higher Level science matter; confirm with SRH.
