About the course

A seven-semester, English-taught B.Eng. (210 ECTS) in electrical engineering and electronics. In semester 5 you choose a track in Autonomous and Intelligent Systems or Biomedical and Health Technologies, semester 6 includes a practical product development and internship module, and teaching follows SRH’s CORE method in five-week blocks.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • German rules say the Leaving Certificate gives direct university entry only with the right subjects and levels. You need six subjects, including two languages and Maths. At least two subjects must be at Higher Level at H5 or better, and the other four at O6/H6 or better. For engineering you also need Higher Level Maths at H5 and a Higher Level science at H5. LCA and LCVP are not accepted. SRH publishes no Irish-specific rules, so confirm with its admissions team.
  • SRH says there is no numerus clausus (no grade cut-off) for its degrees. After your documents are reviewed, you are normally invited to an admissions interview; SRH says some programmes use a video recording or direct acceptance instead.
  • SRH asks for proof of English ‘at an appropriate level’ through tests such as TOEFL or IELTS ‘or comparable certificates’, and offers its own SRH English Proficiency Certificate test if you do not meet the criteria. Ask admissions whether Leaving Cert English is accepted as proof.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsMake sure your Leaving Cert plan includes Higher Level Maths and a Higher Level science at H5 or better, plus two languages.
  2. Apply onlineCreate an account on the SRH application portal and upload your school results, proof of English, CV and ID. You can apply at any time; early 2027 is sensible.
  3. Admissions interviewIf your documents are accepted, you are invited to a personal interview about your motivation and whether the course suits you.
  4. Contract and enrolmentSign the study contract, pay the EUR 750 enrolment fee, and get your letter of admission before the course starts on 1 October 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: SRH says you can apply at any time through its online portal, and the programme page lists an October 2027 start. The course starts once a year, on 1 October. There is no fixed closing date, but apply early in 2027 so you have time for the interview, contract and accommodation..

Costs

  • Private university: EU/EEA students pay EUR 790 a month (about EUR 9,480 a year). SRH says the monthly fee stays the same for the whole degree. There is also a one-off enrolment fee of EUR 750 for EU/EEA students. SRH says no separate exam fees are charged, not even for repeat exams.
This is a private university with fees of EUR 790 a month for 3.5 years, plus a EUR 750 enrolment fee. Public German universities of applied sciences charge only a semester contribution, so compare them before you commit.
