About the course

A seven-semester (210 ECTS) business degree taught entirely in English, covering operations and logistics, business maths, statistics, accounting, economics, marketing, IT, business law and finance in semesters 1-3, then a study-abroad semester (semester 4), a practical internship semester (semester 5) and advanced international management modules and a thesis. Double-degree options exist with partner universities in Australia, Brazil, Finland, France, Mexico and New Zealand.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • DIT asks for a German university entrance qualification or an equivalent foreign one (checked via anabin/DAAD). Under German rules (KMK/anabin), the Leaving Cert gives direct entry to business courses only if you have six subjects, including two languages and Maths, with at least two at Higher Level at H5 or better and the other four at O6/H6 or better. For business you also need Higher Level Maths at H5 or better. LCA and LCVP are not accepted. DIT does not publish its own Irish guidance, so confirm with admissions.
  • You must pass the DIT aptitude test, which checks general knowledge and basic maths and logic skills. The test result counts for 50% and your school-leaving average (Leaving Cert converted to a German grade) for the other 50%. You can take it on campus in Deggendorf for free or online for 26 US dollars, and you are sent a sample test.
  • English at B2 level is needed. DIT’s language-requirements document lists certificates such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic, TOEIC and Cambridge English, which must be less than two years old. The aptitude-test document says proof of English is needed only if English is not your first language, but DIT does not say explicitly that the Irish Leaving Cert is accepted, so check with admissions. Students whose first language is not German take German (German I-III) as their required foreign-language modules; at least A1 level must be completed.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsMake sure your Leaving Cert will meet the German rules for business, including Higher Level Maths at H5 or better.
  2. Apply on PrimussApply on the DIT Primuss portal between 15 April and 15 July 2027 (dates based on the 2026 cycle) and upload your Leaving Cert results and, if asked, proof of English.
  3. Sit the aptitude testTake the DIT aptitude test, either free on campus in Deggendorf or online for 26 US dollars. Use the sample test DIT emails you to prepare.
  4. Accept and enrolIf you get an offer, accept it, pay the €82 student union fee and find accommodation before the October start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Applications for the October (winter semester) start run from 15 April to 15 July via the DIT Primuss portal. These are the published 2026 cycle dates; expect the same window for 2027 entry but confirm on the DIT apply page. First-year entry is winter semester only (the January deadline for March entry is for higher-semester entry only). Aptitude test dates are not published; you are contacted after applying..

Costs

  • No tuition fees for EU/EEA students. You pay only the student union fee of €82 per semester (about €164 a year). The €60 application fee and €500 per semester service fee apply only to non-EU/EEA students. If you sit the aptitude test online it costs 26 US dollars; the on-campus test in Deggendorf is free.
The course is tuition-free, with only an €82 semester fee, but you must pass DIT’s own aptitude test, and to qualify under German rules for business your Leaving Cert needs Higher Level Maths at H5 or better. German language modules are built into the degree for non-German speakers.
