About the course

A seven-semester (210 ECTS) degree covering maths, software development and AI, including machine learning, data science, deep learning and computer vision, with electives such as robotics, cloud computing and embedded systems. It is taught in English on the Rosenheim campus and includes a compulsory practical semester in a company.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • TH Rosenheim publishes nothing specific on the Irish Leaving Certificate, so German national rules apply: the Leaving Cert gives direct entry only with six subjects including two languages and Maths, at least two at Higher Level H5 or better and the rest at O6/H6 or better. For a computer science and engineering subject area, expect Higher Level Maths at H5 plus a Higher Level science at H5. uni-assist checks this. Confirm with admissions.
  • German at A2 level is an admission requirement even though teaching is in English. Accepted proofs include Goethe-Zertifikat A2, telc A2, ÖSD A2 or TestDaF TDN 3; Leaving Cert German is not listed as proof, so plan to sit one of these exams. There is no entrance test or interview.
  • English at B2 is required. The university lists no exemption for native speakers; it accepts, among others, TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 6.0, Cambridge B2 First (grade C) or a school-leaving qualification that certifies English as the language of instruction. Ask admissions or uni-assist whether your Leaving Cert (with a school letter confirming English-medium teaching) is enough, or take an IELTS or similar test to be safe.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsMake sure your Leaving Cert subjects and levels meet the German rules, especially Higher Level Maths and a Higher Level science at H5 or better.
  2. Get your language proofsTake a recognised A2 German exam (for example Goethe-Zertifikat A2) and sort out English B2 proof (an English-medium school confirmation accepted by admissions, or IELTS/TOEFL) before the deadline.
  3. Apply through uni-assistSubmit your application and all documents on uni-assist between 15 February and 15 July 2027 (current-cycle dates), and pay the uni-assist fee.
  4. Enrol and arriveIf admitted, accept the place, enrol, pay the €97 semester contribution and arrange accommodation for an October start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Winter semester (October) start only. Applicants with a school qualification from outside Germany apply through uni-assist between 15 February and 15 July, and all documents must reach uni-assist within that period. These dates are from the current cycle; confirm the 2027 window on the TH Rosenheim application page..

Costs

  • No tuition for EU students. You pay only the student services contribution (Studierendenwerksbeitrag) of €97 per semester, about €194 a year. The €500 per semester tuition fee applies only to students from non-EU countries. uni-assist charges its own application processing fee.
Although the degree is taught in English, you must prove German at A2 level (for example Goethe-Zertifikat A2) to be admitted, and there is no automatic English exemption for Irish applicants. There is no tuition for EU students, only a semester contribution of €97.
