About the course

English-taught bachelor’s (180 ECTS, six semesters) on UE’s Hamburg campus. It applies psychology to business settings such as leadership, marketing and the workplace, and is aimed at careers in HR, consulting and organisational development. Intakes are in September and March.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • UE publishes nothing specific on the Irish Leaving Certificate. Under German rules (KMK/ZAB), the Leaving Cert gives direct university entry only with six subjects: at least two at Higher Level at H5 or better, the other four at H6/O6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. For business and social science areas, Higher Level Maths at H5 is also required. LCA and LCVP are not accepted. Confirm with UE admissions.
  • UE applies no Numerus Clausus. You apply with the completed application form, your school leaving certificate, a language certificate, a CV, a motivation letter and a copy of your passport. UE may also ask you to sit an admission test.
  • English: UE asks for English at level B2 or above for English-taught programmes. It publishes no specific exemption for Leaving Cert English, so check with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsMake sure you meet the German Leaving Cert rules, ideally with Higher Level Maths at H5 for a business-related course.
  2. Apply onlineApply at apply.ue-germany.com with the application form, CV, passport copy, Leaving Cert results or current school report, a language certificate and a motivation letter.
  3. Admission test and EnglishSit UE’s admission test if asked and show English at B2 level, or get written confirmation that your Leaving Cert English is enough.
  4. Sign contractSign the study contract and pay any one-off fees to receive your admission letter. The winter deadline is 1 September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Winter semester (September start): apply by 1 September. Summer semester (March start): apply by 28 February. These are UE’s standing deadlines, so confirm the 2027 dates with admissions..

Costs

  • The programme page lists tuition ‘from €6,662 per year’ as a current saving offer (T&Cs apply), so the standard fee may be higher. UE has previously listed one-off fees on top: a €490 registration fee and a €1,500 reservation fee for EU citizens (students from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are exempt). These one-off fees could not be re-checked this time, so confirm them with UE. No application fee is listed.
This is a private university. Tuition starts at €6,662 a year, and you pay rent on top. Business-related courses in Germany generally expect Higher Level Maths from Leaving Cert students.
