About the course

A six-semester (180 ECTS) business degree applied to sport and events. It covers management and leadership, business administration and economics, basic law, sport and event marketing, customer relationship management and sports finance, with optional Football Management or eSports specialisations. It is taught in English at the Berlin campus.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • UE asks for a general higher education entrance qualification. Under German rules the Leaving Certificate counts only with the right subject mix: six subjects, at least two at Higher Level H5 or better, the other four at O6/H6 or better, including two languages and Maths at O5/H6 or better. For business and economics courses, German rules also expect Higher Level Maths at H5, so take Higher Level Maths if you can and confirm with admissions. LCA and LCVP are not accepted.
  • Selection: the programme page asks for your school results, proof of English, a CV, a motivation letter and a passport copy, and lists no test. However, UE’s general bachelor application guide says Business, Tech and Sports applicants take an entrance examination, so ask admissions whether you will need to sit one.
  • English: UE accepts, for example, IELTS Academic 5.5, TOEFL iBT 60, Cambridge C1 Advanced 162 or Duolingo 100. No exemption for Leaving Cert English is listed, so ask admissions.

How to apply

  1. Check your Leaving Cert subjectsMake sure your six subjects meet the German rule, and aim for Higher Level Maths at H5 because this is a business course.
  2. Pick the right campusChoose Berlin. The Hamburg and Iserlohn versions of this course are taught in German.
  3. Apply on UE’s online portalUpload your CV, passport, Leaving Cert results, motivation letter (at least 500 words) and proof of English. Apply by 1 September 2027 for a September start, or by 28 February for a March start. Be ready for a possible entrance test.
  4. Accept and pay the reservation feeIf you get an offer, pay the €1,500 reservation fee, sign the study contract and arrange housing in Berlin.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: UE’s standing deadlines are 1 September for the winter semester (September start) and 28 February for the summer semester (March start). After these dates a waiting-list procedure applies. These are general deadlines, not a dated 2027 announcement, so confirm before applying..
