About the course

Covers organisational behaviour, strategy, management and financial accounting, logistics, marketing, finance, micro- and macroeconomics and business law, plus data science and research methods. Teaching is in English, about 20 hours a week of lectures, classes and study groups, with a similar amount of independent preparation.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Aarhus University accepts the Irish Leaving Certificate as an EU school-leaving qualification, but you must also meet the programme’s Danish subject levels. Aarhus decides how Leaving Cert subjects map to these levels, and Higher Level is usually needed for a B level. Do not assume Ordinary Level will do; confirm the exact Leaving Cert grades needed with Aarhus University admissions.
  • Specific requirements: English B, Mathematics B, and one of History B, History of Ideas B, Social Studies B, Contemporary History B or International Economics B. Under Quota 2 you are assessed on your grades in the relevant subjects plus documented qualifications.
  • English: Aarhus University states that a completed upper secondary school leaving exam from Ireland with a passed subject in English meets the English B requirement, so IELTS or TOEFL is not normally needed.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsBefore your senior cycle subject choices are final, confirm with Aarhus University how Leaving Cert Maths, English and History (or a social science) map to the B levels required.
  2. Apply on optagelse.dkCreate an application on optagelse.dk and apply for this programme under Quota 2. You can list up to 8 choices in order of priority.
  3. Meet the 15 March deadlineSubmit by 15 March 2027 at 12:00 noon Danish time, with the school results and supporting documents Aarhus University asks for.
  4. Send final results and find housingUpload your final Leaving Cert results when they come out in late August, as the university instructs, and start looking for accommodation in Aarhus early, as it is hard to find.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Apply on optagelse.dk under Quota 2 by 15 March 2027 at 12:00 noon Danish time. This is the standard national Quota 2 deadline; confirm it on the Aarhus University deadlines page. Quota 1 (deadline 5 July) is grade-only and does not suit Leaving Cert students because Irish results come out in late August. Teaching starts in August/September 2027..

Costs

  • EU/EEA citizens, including Irish citizens, do not pay tuition at Danish public universities such as Aarhus University. You still pay your own living costs, which are high in Denmark. Application fees normally apply only to non-EU applicants; confirm on the Aarhus University tuition fees and application fee page.
Apply under Quota 2 by 15 March, not Quota 1, because Leaving Cert results come too late for the July round. Entry is competitive: the 2026 Quota 1 cut-off was a 9.2 average on the Danish scale.
