About the course

An English-taught three-year bachelor (180 ECTS) that combines business administration with sociology. CBS reports that about 61% of the students on the programme are from outside Denmark. Graduates get guaranteed admission to the CBS MSc in International Business and Politics if they apply within 3 years of graduating.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • CBS publishes no specific assessment of the Irish Leaving Certificate. It says that if your grades cannot be converted to the Danish scale you can be assessed only in Quota 2. Separately, it says that applicants who finish their school-leaving exam in the admission year can apply only in Quota 1. Ask CBS admissions which rule applies to a 2027 Leaving Cert and how your subjects map to Danish levels. Take the relevant subjects at Higher Level. CAO points do not apply.
  • Specific requirements shown on the CBS programme page: English level B (minimum 6.0), Mathematics level B (minimum average 6.0), and History, Social Studies or International Economics at level B. In Quota 2 CBS selects on an overall assessment of your motivational essay, relevant extra-curricular activities and your grade level in the specific entry requirements.
  • English: CBS requires English level A for its English-taught bachelor programmes. It accepts upper secondary education completed entirely in English in Ireland (among other listed countries), so a Leaving Cert taken through English should meet this without IELTS or TOEFL. Students from Irish-medium schools should check with CBS.

How to apply

  1. Check your subjectsTake English, Maths and History or a similar subject at Higher Level. Maths needs a solid grade because CBS sets a minimum.
  2. Ask CBS about your quotaBefore applying, email CBS admissions to ask whether a 2027 Leaving Cert applicant should apply in Quota 1 or Quota 2, and how to handle results that come out after 5 July.
  3. Apply on optagelse.dk by 15 March 2027Apply before 12:00 noon Danish time and upload any Quota 2 documents (motivational essay, evidence of activities) by the same deadline. You can list up to 8 programmes in order of priority.
  4. Document your resultsUpload proof that you meet the entry requirements as CBS instructs. The standard deadline is 5 July at 12:00 noon, so agree in advance how CBS will handle Leaving Cert results issued in late August.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Apply on optagelse.dk by 15 March 2027 at 12:00 noon Danish time. CBS says this is the deadline for applicants with a foreign school-leaving exam in both Quota 1 and Quota 2, and Quota 2 documents (motivational essay, activities and so on) must also be uploaded by 15 March. You then have until 5 July at 12:00 noon to document that you meet the entry requirements. CBS also says that if you finish your school-leaving exam in the admission year you can apply only in Quota 1. Leaving Cert results come out in late August, after the 5 July deadline, so contact CBS admissions early to ask how a 2027 Leaving Cert applicant can apply. The 2027 dates follow CBS’s standing rules; check them on the CBS site..

Costs

  • CBS states that EU/EEA and Swiss citizens pay no application fee or tuition fees, so Irish citizens pay nothing. These fees apply only to non-EU/EEA citizens. You pay your own living costs in Copenhagen, which are high.
This programme sets a minimum grade in Maths as well as English, so ask CBS what Leaving Cert Maths grade and level it will accept. CBS’s documentation deadline (5 July) comes before Leaving Cert results are issued, so talk to CBS admissions before you apply.

Checked against the official CBS pages on 27 Sep 2026. The programme page lists open days in January and February 2027, which suggests the programme is recruiting for 2027 entry. The admission rules page still refers to the 2025 admission round, so confirm the 2027 dates and requirements when CBS updates it. Always confirm details with the university before applying.
