About the course

A business degree weighted towards economics and mathematics, with trade and logistics, organisation and management, and innovation. Taught in English over three years (180 ECTS) through lectures and smaller classes.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Denmark accepts the Leaving Certificate as an EU school-leaving qualification, but CBS sets specific requirements at Danish levels and does not publish an Ireland-specific subject mapping on its admission page. CBS says applicants with non-convertible foreign exams can only be assessed in Quota 2. Do not assume Ordinary Level will count for B level; confirm the mapping with CBS admissions.
  • Specific requirements: English B (minimum Danish grade 6.0), Mathematics B, and History, Social Studies or International Economics at B. Quota 2 selection is an overall assessment of your motivational essay, relevant extra-curricular activities and your general grade level in the specific entry requirements.
  • English: the programme has an English A language requirement, but CBS lists Ireland among countries where completing upper secondary education taught in English (at least 3 years) meets it, so Irish-educated students should not need IELTS or TOEFL.

How to apply

  1. Check subject levelsAutumn 2026: ask CBS admissions which Leaving Cert subjects and levels meet English B, Mathematics B and History/Social Studies B.
  2. Apply on optagelse.dkList CBS programmes among up to 8 choices in priority order and submit by 15 March 2027 at 12:00 noon Danish time.
  3. Essay and activitiesUpload your motivational essay and evidence of extra-curricular activities; these are central to Quota 2 selection.
  4. Results and offerFollow CBS instructions on documenting final results (CBS deadline 5 July), watch for offers on 28 July, and start looking for housing early.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Apply on optagelse.dk by 15 March 2027 at 12:00 noon Danish time (the national deadline for Quota 2 and international qualifications). CBS says all specific entry requirements must be documented by 5 July at 12:00 noon. Offers are sent nationally on 28 July. Leaving Cert results come out in late August, after the 5 July deadline, so ask CBS admissions how Irish applicants should document their results..

Costs

  • No tuition fee and no application fee for EU/EEA citizens, so Irish students pay nothing to CBS. Living costs in Copenhagen are high and you must cover them yourself.
Irish applicants compete in Quota 2, where a motivational essay and activities count alongside grades, and competition is heavy with thousands of Quota 2 applicants in 2026. There is no CAO-style points system.
