About the course

A four-year, 240-ECTS business degree. ESCI-UPF says 100% of its subjects are taught in English. It covers international business management, marketing and international expansion. As well as English, students take one more language: Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese or Russian. The course also includes an exchange abroad and a company internship.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Ireland is an EU education system, so you do not sit the Spanish entrance exam (PAU). Instead, you get UNEDasiss accreditation, which converts your Leaving Cert to a Spanish score out of 10. You must also meet the rules for getting into university in Ireland. As a guide, UCD’s minimum is six subjects, with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four, including English and Irish. ESCI-UPF publishes no Leaving Cert rules of its own, so confirm with admissions.
  • If the course is oversubscribed, you can raise your admission score by taking UNED PCE subject tests or the specific-stage PAU exams. Ask ESCI-UPF which subjects count for this degree. Note that if you apply by this route, you cannot also apply by another route in the same academic year.
  • English requirement: the programme is taught in English. ESCI-UPF sets no fixed test score. It only says its assessment committee may check how well you understand and use the teaching languages. Confirm with ESCI-UPF admissions whether Leaving Cert English is enough.

How to apply

  1. Get UNEDasiss accreditationApply to UNEDasiss when its 2027 applications open, with your Leaving Cert results, and pay the fee. If you want a higher score, book any PCE subject tests early.
  2. Check ESCI-UPF admissionsRead the ESCI-UPF bachelor’s admissions page for the 2027 process and any language check. Contact admissions to confirm how it handles Leaving Cert students.
  3. Pre-register in CataloniaApply through Catalan university pre-registration on the Accés Universitat portal (usually early June to early July, to be confirmed). Choose the English-taught ESCI-UPF degree, code 41063.
  4. Accept offer and enrolIf you get a place, enrol with ESCI-UPF by the deadline in the allocation results and choose a fee payment plan.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: You apply through the Catalan university pre-registration system (preinscripció) on the Accés Universitat portal. ESCI-UPF’s admissions page names this as the route for students from EU countries. In Catalonia the main round usually runs from early June to early July, but the 2027 dates have not been published. Check the Catalan pre-registration calendar on Canal Universitats and the ESCI-UPF admissions page. Start your UNEDasiss accreditation well before this, as UNEDasiss usually opens applications in spring..

Costs

  • For 2026/27, ESCI-UPF charges €138 per ECTS credit. A standard first year is 60 credits, so the first-year total is €8,280. You can pay it all at once, in two instalments (€4,140 at enrolment and the rest by 10 February), or in ten monthly payments (these include €200 interest). The fee covers tuition, the academic transcript, specific teaching services and student insurance. Part of it is a government-regulated amount (€17.69 per credit in 2026/27), and this part can be reduced if you qualify for a discount. ESCI-UPF is an affiliated centre of UPF and charges its own fees, which are higher than public university fees. The 2027/28 price has not been published yet, so expect it to change. Budget also for the UNEDasiss accreditation fee.
ESCI-UPF is an affiliated centre of Universitat Pompeu Fabra and charges its own fees: €138 per credit in 2026/27, or €8,280 for a 60-credit first year. This is much higher than at Spanish public universities. When you pre-register, make sure you choose the English-taught version (code 41063).
