About the course

A 240 ECTS business degree taught in English, made up of core (60), mandatory (102) and elective (66) credits plus a 12-credit final project. You can study all four years in Madrid, or years 1-2 in Segovia and years 3-4 in Madrid.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • You do not sit the Spanish entrance exam (PAU): as Ireland is an EU education system, the Leaving Certificate gives access if it meets Irish university entry rules (as a guide, UCD asks for six subjects with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four). IE does not publish a specific Leaving Cert rule, so confirm how it assesses your results with IE admissions, and meet Spanish Ministry of Education requirements for official enrolment.
  • Admission is by IE’s own process: online application, IE Admissions Test (in English only; verbal, logical and numerical reasoning), online video and written assessment, a personal interview, then a committee decision.
  • English: IE does not need a language certificate from applicants who studied in an English-language school system for all their education or at least the last two years of secondary school, so Leaving Cert students taught through English should be exempt; confirm with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineSubmit IE’s online application early in 6th year (autumn 2026); earlier rounds have more places.
  2. Admissions testSit the IE Admissions Test, which is in English and covers verbal, logical and numerical reasoning.
  3. Assessment and interviewComplete the online video and written assessment and a personal interview; the committee sends its decision in writing.
  4. Reserve and enrolIf offered a place, pay the reservation deposit and send your Leaving Cert and legal documents to IE admissions before 15 October 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: IE University organises undergraduate admissions into several rounds, each with its own application deadline; the round dates were not published on the page checked. Earlier rounds have more places, so apply as early as possible in 6th year. Legal documents for official enrolment must reach IE admissions (Madrid or Segovia campus) before 15 October of the first year..

Costs

  • IE University is a private university and sets its own fees, which are far higher than at Spanish public universities. The tuition for this degree could not be confirmed on the official website during this check. Confirm the current annual fee, any application fee and the place-reservation deposit with IE admissions.
IE University is private, with its own admissions test and interview and much higher fees than public Spanish universities. Apply early, because earlier rounds have more places.
