About the course

An English-taught degree (4 years, 240 ECTS) covering strategic communication, content creation across media, branding, marketing and digital strategy, with a hands-on, project-based approach. You can study all four years in Madrid, or do years 1-2 in Segovia and years 3-4 in Madrid.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • IE is a private university and assesses applicants through its own process: school results, an admissions test and an interview. IE’s entry page doesn’t list a Leaving Certificate requirement (it gives A-Level and IB ranges only), so ask IE admissions what Leaving Cert results they expect. All students must meet the Spanish Ministry of Education’s access rules. IE asks for your final entry documents by 15 October of first year. Ask IE whether Irish students need UNEDasiss accreditation.
  • Admissions test: IE’s own admissions test, or one of these external tests: SAT (minimum 1200), ACT (minimum 24) or LNAT (minimum 22).
  • English: you don’t need an English certificate if you studied your last two years in an English-speaking education system or have lived in an English-speaking country for more than two years, so Irish-educated students are normally exempt.

How to apply

  1. Apply onlineComplete the IE online application and pay the €150 admission fee. Aim for Round 1 (closes 6 Nov 2026) or Round 2 (closes 15 Jan 2027).
  2. Admissions testTake the IE admissions test, or submit SAT (1200+), ACT (24+) or LNAT (22+) scores.
  3. Assessment and interviewComplete IE’s assessment and personal interview, then wait for the decision for your round.
  4. Accept and enrolPay the €3,000 place reservation fee to secure your place, then send your final Leaving Cert documents to IE by 15 October 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: IE admits students in rounds. For the current cycle: the Early Round closed 18 Sep 2026. Round 1 closes 6 Nov 2026 (decision by 11 Dec 2026). Round 2 closes 15 Jan 2027 (decision by 19 Feb 2027). Round 3 closes 5 Mar 2027 (decision by 23 Apr 2027). From May 2027, applications are considered first come, first served while places remain..

Costs

  • IE lists €26,500 a year (€441.67 per ECTS) for this programme in 2026-27. The 2027-28 fee isn’t published yet. IE says fees rise by a fixed 2.9% each year for the length of the programme. IE is a private university, so EU and non-EU students pay the same. One-off costs: a €150 admission fee, a €3,000 place reservation fee (taken off your tuition) and a €1,200 IE Foundation contribution in first year. Check the 2027-28 amounts with IE.
This is a private university with high fees, and places are given out in rounds, so apply in an early round rather than waiting for your Leaving Cert results.
