About the course

A five-year double degree taught in English that leads to two bachelor’s degrees (480 ECTS in total). It combines economics with international relations. You can start in Segovia and spend the first two years there before moving to Madrid for years three to five, or you can spend all five years in Madrid.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • IE University does not publish specific Leaving Certificate requirements and tells applicants to contact undergrad.admissions@ie.edu. Under Spanish rules (Royal Decree 534/2024), students from EU systems such as Ireland do not sit the Spanish PAU but must meet Irish university entry rules (as a guide, six subjects with at least H5 in two, including English and Irish). Confirm Leaving Cert expectations with IE Admissions.
  • Admissions test: you must take the IE Admissions Test, or submit SAT (minimum 1200), ACT (minimum 24) or LNAT (minimum 22) scores instead.
  • English: IE exempts students who studied all their education, or at least the last two years of secondary school, in an English-speaking system. Irish-educated students should therefore be exempt. Otherwise the minimums are IELTS 7, TOEFL 100, Cambridge C1 Advanced or Duolingo 130.
