About the course

A four-year business administration degree taught in English, with a rotation across campuses on four continents. Year 1 is in Madrid and year 4 is in Madrid or New York (a 3+1 track links to an accelerated master’s). Years 2 and 3 are in Singapore and Dubai, but IE’s own sources list them in different orders, so confirm the current rotation with IE. The first intake was September 2026.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • You do not sit the Spanish entrance exam (PAU). Under Spanish rules (Royal Decree 534/2024) you must meet the requirements for university entry in Ireland. As a guide, UCD asks for six subjects, with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four, including English and Irish. IE does not publish a specific Leaving Cert grade rule and assesses your whole academic and personal profile. It normally needs legal access documents (usually UNEDasiss) early in first year. Confirm the grades and the document date with IE admissions.
  • IE runs its own selection: an online application, the IE University Admissions Test (verbal, logical and numerical reasoning, taken in English), an online assessment with video and written questions, and a personal interview. The Admissions Committee then decides in writing. IE’s admissions policy says it also accepts SAT (1300+), ACT (28+) or LNAT (22+) in place of its own test.
  • English: the course is taught in English. IE’s 2026-2027 admissions policy exempts applicants who studied in an English-speaking country or through English for at least the last two years of secondary school, so Leaving Cert students taught through English should qualify. Otherwise IE asks for TOEFL 100, IELTS 7, Cambridge C1/C2 or Duolingo 130. Confirm with IE.

How to apply

  1. Apply online earlySubmit the application on the IE portal and pay the €150 admission fee. Aim for Round 1 (6 Nov 2026) or Round 2 (15 Jan 2027).
  2. Admissions test and assessmentTake the IE Admissions Test, or send SAT/ACT/LNAT scores instead. Complete the online assessment with video and written questions.
  3. Interview and decisionAttend the personal interview. The Admissions Committee then sends a written decision by the round’s decision date.
  4. Reserve and prepare documentsPay the reservation fee by the date in your offer letter, since places go in order of payment. After your Leaving Cert results, apply for UNEDasiss and send IE your legal documents by the date it gives. Plan early for visas and housing abroad.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: IE admits students in rounds, and places are limited and given in order of reservation payment. For September 2027 entry the rounds on IE’s admissions-rounds page are: Early Round, 18 September 2026 (already closed); Round 1, 6 November 2026 (decision by 11 December 2026); Round 2, 15 January 2027 (decision by 19 February 2027); Round 3, 5 March 2027 (decision by 23 April 2027). From May 2027 IE admits on a rolling basis while places remain. You must apply by Round 2 at the latest to meet the 28 February IE Foundation scholarship deadline. Apply early because programmes fill well before September. IE normally asks for legal access documents (usually a UNEDasiss accreditation) early in first year. This was not confirmed on a page loaded in this check, so confirm the date with IE..

Costs

  • IE University is a private university, so this course is not tuition-free. IE’s official fees page lists the 2026/27 Global BBA tuition at €43,800 a year (€730 per ECTS). IE says fees rise by a fixed 2.9% each year while you are enrolled. Other costs are a €150 admission fee (paid when you apply and take the test), a one-time €1,200 IE Foundation contribution in first year, and a non-refundable place reservation fee that is deducted from first-year tuition. IE’s official pages give the reservation fee as €3,000 or €5,000 depending on the programme and do not say clearly which applies to the Global BBA, so check your offer letter. The 2027/28 fee had not been published at the time of checking. Also budget for living costs, visas and accommodation in each country.
You move between countries during the degree, which adds visa, housing and living costs on top of tuition of about €43,800 a year.
