About the course

A degree combining mathematics with computing, including numerical methods, modelling, algorithms and programming, at UC3M’s Leganés campus. UC3M says the degree is taught completely in English and that there are no Spanish-language groups in any subject. It is a separate degree from UC3M’s Bachelor in Applied Mathematics.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Leaving Cert students do not sit the Spanish PAU. Instead, UNEDasiss converts your school results to a Spanish score out of 10, and places are allocated by that score. You should also meet the minimum entry requirements for university in Ireland (as a guide, UCD asks for six subjects with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four, including English and Irish; Irish colleges vary). Confirm your case with UC3M admissions.
  • You can raise your score towards 14: UC3M counts your two best weighted subjects from your country’s university entrance exam or UNED PCE subject tests. The weightings for this degree are in UC3M’s weighting-factors table. In 2026/27, the cut-off for the main quota was 12.370 out of 14.
  • English: the programme page says you need English at B2 level (CEFR). Early Admission asks for a B2 certificate when you apply. It was not confirmed whether the Leaving Cert on its own is accepted, so ask UC3M.

How to apply

  1. Check Irish minimum entryMake sure your expected Leaving Cert results meet Irish university matriculation rules, and check UC3M’s weighting table for this degree.
  2. Consider Early AdmissionIf the 2027 Early Admission window is open, apply online with your transcripts, a motivation letter and a B2 English certificate (fee €100, up to two degrees). Places go on a rolling basis.
  3. Get UNEDasiss accreditationFor the general route, apply to UNEDasiss for your credential and consider UNED PCE subject tests (Maths is likely to matter) to raise your score.
  4. Pre-enrol and enrolPre-enrol at UC3M in the June to early July 2027 window, then check the admission lists, accept your place and enrol.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: In the 2026 cycle, general pre-enrolment ran from 5 to 26 June 2026, and students from foreign education systems (including those with UNEDasiss credentials) had until 6 July 2026. An extraordinary period ran from 20 to 24 July 2026. Expect similar dates in 2027, but check the UC3M pre-enrolment page. You need to apply for UNEDasiss accreditation well before this. UC3M also runs Early Admission for students from non-Spanish systems who will not be living in Spain. The last window ran from 22 September 2025 to 10 April 2026, places are given out on a rolling basis and the application fee is €100. Check whether the 2027 window is open..

Costs

  • UC3M is a public university, so EU students pay the same regulated price as Spanish students. For 2026/27 Mathematics and Computing is in UC3M’s price Type 2, at €19.43 per credit for a first enrolment, so a full year of 60 credits costs about €1,166. On top of that, UC3M charges an administrative fee and school insurance, plus a file-opening fee for new students. The 2027/28 prices have not been published yet. UNEDasiss accreditation is a separate fee.
This is a small maths-heavy course with only 40 places, and the 2026/27 cut-off was 12.370 out of 14. Well-chosen weighted subjects, or the Early Admission route, can make a difference.
