About the course

A four-year, 240 ECTS official degree on the Villaviciosa de Odón campus. It is offered in English or Spanish groups, and the English group is described as 100% in English. You spend fourth year at a partner university abroad; the university names Temple University (USA), the University of Guelph (Canada) and the University of Westminster (UK). Fourth year also includes a 12 ECTS internship and a 6 ECTS final thesis project.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Under Spanish law (Royal Decree 534/2024), Irish students do not sit the Spanish entrance exam (PAU). Universidad Europea lists Ireland among the EU education systems it accepts. You must get an accreditation from UNED (the UNEDasiss service), and your enrolment depends on sending it before you finish registering. For the Leaving Cert, the basic rule is minimum matriculation. As a guide, UCD asks for six subjects, with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four, but each Irish college sets its own rules. Universidad Europea does not publish a minimum Leaving Cert grade, so ask admissions.
  • The university’s admission process includes a competencies and skills assessment (about 30 minutes), an interview or cover letter with motivational questions, and an English test.
  • The programme page asks for ‘a good knowledge of English’ but gives no CEFR level. The university says its English test is for students from countries whose official language is not English, so Irish applicants may be exempt. Confirm this with admissions.

How to apply

  1. Contact admissionsApply online through Universidad Europea’s admissions page in the autumn or winter of your Leaving Cert year, and say that you want the English group.
  2. Sit the admission testsTake the skills assessment and interview, and the English test if you are asked to.
  3. Reserve your placeOnce you are admitted, pay the reservation fee to hold your place, but only after you have the full tuition cost in writing, including the year abroad.
  4. Enrol with documentsApply for your UNEDasiss accreditation. After your Leaving Cert results in August, send it and your certificates to the university as it instructs, then start classes in September 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Universidad Europea runs rolling admissions and publishes no single deadline. Apply early in your Leaving Cert year. The current intake started on 14 September 2026, so expect 2027 classes to start in mid-September 2027. Scholarships have their own deadlines, so check them with admissions..

Costs

  • Universidad Europea is a private university and does not publish the tuition fee on the programme page, so no figure is shown here. This is not a free course. Expect private-university fees, far higher than public university fees in Spain. Once you are admitted, you pay a reservation fee to hold your place, and the amount depends on the degree. You spend fourth year at a partner university abroad, so ask admissions in writing for the exact 2027/28 tuition and reservation fee, and ask whether the year abroad costs extra.
This is a private university with its own admissions and high fees, and the fee is not published on the course page. The degree also runs in Spanish, so make sure you apply for the English group. Get the full cost in writing, including any extra cost for the year abroad, before you pay a reservation fee.
