About the course

A four-year, 240 ECTS degree taught in English, covering the history and theory of international relations, diplomacy, international law, human rights, the global economy, security and conflict, with a foreign language (German, Chinese, Spanish or French). There is a study-abroad exchange in third or fourth year and a compulsory internship in the final year.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Ireland is an EU education system, so under Spanish law you do not need to sit the Spanish entrance exam (PAU). You must meet the rules for getting into university in Ireland (as a guide, six Leaving Cert subjects including English and Irish, with at least two at H5 or above). Your Leaving Cert is usually accredited through UNEDasiss and converted to a Spanish score out of 10. The university publishes nothing Ireland-specific, so confirm the documents it needs with admissions.
  • You must sit Universidad Europea’s own admission exams before being offered a place; the content of the tests is not published on the programme page.
  • Minimum English level B1 (Common European Framework). Ask admissions whether Leaving Cert English is accepted as evidence (native speakers are usually exempt).

How to apply

  1. Contact admissionsRequest information online or call +34 918257503 during your Leaving Cert year; admissions arranges your admission exams.
  2. Sit the admission examsTake the university’s own admission tests. Ask what they cover and whether they can be done online.
  3. Reserve your placeOnce admitted, pay the reservation fee to secure a place. Get the full 2027/28 tuition fee in writing first.
  4. Send access documentsSubmit your Leaving Cert results and the access accreditation the university asks for (usually UNEDasiss) and complete enrolment before the September start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: No fixed deadline is published. Admission works in steps: you contact admissions, sit the admission exams, pay a reservation fee to secure your place, then submit your enrolment documents. The 2026 intake has 144 places and starts on 14 September 2026; 2027 dates are not yet published, so apply early in the 2026/27 school year..

Costs

  • Universidad Europea is a private university and does not publish the tuition fee on the programme page. Fees are set by the university and are far higher than at Spanish public universities. Once admitted you pay a reservation fee to secure your place (amount not published). Ask admissions for the 2027/28 fee in writing before you commit.
This is a private university with its own admission exams and a fee that is not published on the programme page, so get the full cost in writing before paying the reservation fee. The page describes an exchange in third or fourth year (partners include Pace University, New York, and McGill University, Canada), so ask whether it is compulsory and budget for time abroad.
