About the course

A four-year (240 ECTS) on-campus psychology degree taught in English at UNIE’s Castellana campus in Madrid. You can specialise in Health Psychology, Psychosocial Intervention or Psychological Assessment and Intervention. The Health Psychology route leads on to the Master’s in General Health Psychology, the path to practising as a health psychologist in Spain. In fourth year you choose six electives and also do an internship and a final degree project.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Under Spanish rules (Royal Decree 534/2024), a student from an EU education system such as Ireland does not have to sit the Spanish PAU, but must meet the rules for getting into university in Ireland. As a guide, UCD’s minimum is six subjects, with at least H5 in two and O6/H7 in the other four, including English and Irish. UNIE’s admission rules say applicants with a school-leaving qualification from an EU country can get UNEDasiss accreditation. Check with UNIE Admissions how it assesses the Leaving Cert.
  • UNIE runs its own admission process. You send your ID and school grades. Then you do a three-part entrance assessment covering your approach to academic work, English, and a review of your merits. UNIE’s rules also mention a motivational interview with Admissions and the academic team.
  • English: UNIE’s English-taught degrees need B2 English, shown by a certificate or the university’s own test. UNIE’s rules exempt students from English-speaking countries and students with certified previous study in English. So Irish students taught through English may be exempt, but confirm this with Admissions.
