About the course

A 210-credit business degree focused on sustainable, data-driven decision-making, with marketing, business development and analytics taught in an international setting. The full-time option is contact teaching on the Valkeakoski campus, mostly 8:00-16:00 on weekdays, with exchange, double-degree and work-placement options.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate that makes you eligible for higher education in Ireland. No Finnish body sets minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels, and CAO points are not converted. Confirm with HAMK admissions.
  • Leaving Cert holders cannot be ranked on school results in Finland’s certificate-based selection, which only uses the Finnish matriculation exam, IB, EB and German Abitur. In the joint application Irish applicants are normally ranked on the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027). HAMK’s programme page does not say how direct-application applicants are selected, so read the admission criteria on Studyinfo.
  • English at B2 level is required. The UAS accept upper secondary schooling in an EU country taught and assessed entirely in English, but the language of instruction must be shown on your documents, so get a school letter. Otherwise IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 3.5 (new scale), PTE Academic 55 or Cambridge 169.

How to apply

  1. Choose your routeDecide between HAMK’s direct application (1 Oct 2026 to 14 May 2027) and the joint application (7-21 Jan 2027). Read the admission criteria for each route on Studyinfo.
  2. Apply on Studyinfo.fiSubmit the application before the deadline for your route and upload your school documents.
  3. Prove your EnglishUpload an English school letter or test result. For the joint application the deadline is 28 January 2027.
  4. Sit the selection testFor the joint application, register for and sit the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027. Results come out by 14 April 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Two routes for autumn 2027: the national joint application on Studyinfo, 7-21 January 2027 (15:00 Finnish time), or HAMK’s direct application, 1 October 2026 to 14 May 2027 (15:00 Finnish time). English-language proof for the joint application must be attached by 28 January 2027..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA students. Non-EU/EEA students pay EUR 9,700 per academic year. Check Studyinfo for any application fee when you apply.
Your Leaving Cert grades will not rank you, so how well you do in the selection test (normally the International UAS Exam in the joint application) decides whether you get a place. HAMK also runs a direct application that closes on 14 May 2027, but its selection method is only published on Studyinfo, so check it there.
