About the course

A 240 ECTS Bachelor of Engineering that combines classic software engineering (object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, software architecture) with data analytics, machine learning and deploying AI. It is taught as blended study based in Helsinki (Valkea Talo, Ilkantie 4), with online learning plus contact sessions on two consecutive weekdays each month, so it can be combined with work. It includes project work, a work placement, a thesis and language studies, and international students also study Finnish.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • KAMK accepts a foreign school qualification that gives eligibility for higher education in the country where it was awarded. A completed Leaving Certificate that meets Irish entry rules should therefore qualify. No minimum grades, Higher Level subjects or CAO points are set. Confirm with admissions@kamk.fi.
  • You are ranked by the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027) or the SAT, with a minimum of 400 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 400 in Maths (KAMK SAT code 7787). Certificate-based ranking is only for the Finnish Matriculation Exam, IB, EB or Abitur/DIA.
  • You must prove good English. The UAS rules accept EU schooling taught and assessed entirely in English, but the language of instruction must be clearly shown on your educational documents, and the Leaving Cert does not show it. A school letter can support your case but may not be accepted on its own. The safest option is an accepted test such as IELTS Academic 6.0, PTE Academic 55 or TOEFL iBT (3.5 on the new scale). Gaelscoil students will need a test.

How to apply

No rolling-admission round is listed for this programme. Leaving Cert applicants are ranked by the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027 (from 12:00 noon Finnish time) or by SAT scores, which must be received by 29 March 2027.
