About the course

A full-time, campus-based hospitality and tourism management degree (210 ECTS) at KAMK’s Kajaani campus. Students specialise in either Hospitality Management or Wellbeing from Arctic Nature, and international students also study Finnish. The official programme title includes ‘full-time’, so make sure you pick the full-time version on Studyinfo.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • KAMK accepts a foreign school qualification that gives eligibility for higher education in the country where it was awarded. A completed Leaving Certificate that meets Irish entry rules should therefore qualify. KAMK sets no minimum Leaving Cert grades or Higher Level subjects and does not use CAO points. Confirm with admissions@kamk.fi.
  • Leaving Cert grades are not used to rank you. Certificate-based selection is only for the Finnish Matriculation Exam, IB, EB or Abitur/DIA. In the joint application, Leaving Cert applicants are ranked by the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027) or the SAT, with a minimum of 400 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 400 in Maths (KAMK SAT code 7787). In the rolling round, selection is by certificate or SAT, and applicants without an accepted English certificate may be interviewed.
  • You must prove good English. The UAS rules accept EU schooling taught and assessed entirely in English, but the language of instruction must be clearly shown on your educational documents. The Leaving Cert certificate does not say this. A letter from your school confirming English-medium teaching can support your documents, but it may not be accepted on its own. The safest option is an accepted test such as IELTS Academic 6.0, PTE Academic 55 or TOEFL iBT (3.5 on the new scale). Gaelscoil students will need a test. KAMK says rolling-admission applicants who apply with an SAT score do not need separate proof of English.

Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Two routes for autumn 2027 entry. Rolling admission: opens 27 August 2026 and ends when the 10 places are filled, or on 10 December 2026 at the latest. Joint application: 7 January (8am) to 21 January 2027 (3pm Finnish time), 25 places. In the joint application, Leaving Cert applicants are ranked by the International UAS Exam (online, 23 March 2027 from 12:00 noon Finnish time) or by SAT scores, which must be received by 29 March 2027. Results are published by 31 May 2027, and you must accept your place by 13 July 2027..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens. KAMK charges tuition only to non-EU/EEA students, and the 100 euro application fee also applies only to applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland. Irish citizens pay neither.
Your Leaving Cert points play no part in ranking. For the joint application, places are decided by the online International UAS Exam or the SAT, so register early. The rolling round closes as soon as its 10 places are filled.
