About the course

A 210-ECTS business degree taught in English, with a focus on international business and international marketing. You learn through teamwork in multicultural groups and projects with real companies.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Karelia publishes nothing specific on the Irish Leaving Certificate. Under Finnish rules, a foreign school qualification makes you eligible if it gives access to higher education in the country where it was awarded, so a completed Leaving Cert that meets Irish entry rules should count. Leaving Cert grades and CAO points are not used to rank applicants. Confirm with Karelia admissions.
  • The school-results places are only for the Finnish matriculation exam and Finnish vocational degrees, so Leaving Cert students compete for the 10 International UAS Exam places (online exam, 23 March 2027) or the 2 SAT places. In the autumn 2026 round Karelia wanted at least 400 in SAT Reading and Writing and 400 in SAT Maths, with scores sent directly to Karelia (SAT code 7782). Check the 2027 SAT rules before you book.
  • English: International UAS Exam applicants must prove their English, even native speakers. A school-leaving qualification from the EU counts only if it was taught and assessed entirely in English and your documents show this. Ask your school for a letter confirming it, because the Leaving Cert certificate does not say so. Gaelscoil students should plan for IELTS or TOEFL.

How to apply

  1. Choose your routeDecide by December 2026 whether to sit the International UAS Exam or apply with SAT scores. If you choose SAT, book a test date early enough for scores to reach Karelia in time.

Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Joint application on Studyinfo.fi: 7-21 January 2027. For the International UAS Exam, the documents it requires (including proof of English and ID) must be attached by 28 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time. The online exam is on 23 March 2027 from 12:00 Finnish time. An earlier round (31 August-10 September 2026) has already closed..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens. Non-EU students pay 9,000 euro a year for this programme. Karelia’s pages do not mention an application fee for EU applicants.
Irish students cannot compete for the grade-based places. Your realistic route is the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027, where there are 10 places, or one of just 2 SAT places.
