About the course

A tourism management degree focused on nature-based, high-end tourism experiences, sustainability and experience design, plus marketing, eCommerce, product development, HR and risk management. It is taught entirely in English, with 30 ECTS credits of practical training that can be done abroad and access to some University of Lapland courses through the Multidimensional Tourism Institute.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a school qualification that gives eligibility for higher education in the country where it was awarded, so a completed Leaving Certificate that meets Irish college entry rules should make you eligible. Finland sets no minimum grades (H1-H8, O1-O8) or subjects and does not use CAO points. Lapland UAS publishes nothing specific on the Leaving Cert, so confirm with admissions@lapinamk.fi.
  • Ranking on school results at Finnish UAS uses only the Finnish matriculation exam, IB, EB and the German Reifeprüfung/DIA. Leaving Cert holders are therefore ranked by the programme’s entrance exam, normally the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027). Check the programme’s Studyinfo page for the exact selection method.
  • English: accepted proof includes IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60, PTE Academic 55, Cambridge 169, or upper secondary education taught and assessed entirely in English in an EU country, with the language shown on your documents. The Leaving Cert certificate doesn’t state this, so get a school letter confirming it. Gaelscoil students should plan for IELTS or TOEFL. Upload proof by 28 January 2027.

How to apply

  1. Prepare English proof and school letterAutumn 2026: ask your school for a letter confirming that your Leaving Cert education was taught and assessed entirely in English, or book IELTS/TOEFL in good time.
  2. Apply on Studyinfo.fi7-21 January 2027: fill in the joint application on Studyinfo.fi and choose Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Tourism at Lapland UAS. Read the programme’s entrance exam instructions there.
  3. Upload documentsBy 28 January 2027 (15:00 Finnish time): upload your language proof and any other documents Studyinfo asks for.
  4. Sit the entrance exam23 March 2027 (identity check 10-12 March): take the online International UAS Exam from home if your programme uses it. Results by 14 April 2027. If you get a conditional offer, check the deadline for sending your final Leaving Cert results.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Joint application on Studyinfo.fi: 7-21 January 2027, for studies starting in autumn 2027. Proof of English must be uploaded by 28 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time. Lapland UAS says entrance exam details for each programme are published on Studyinfo.fi and change each round. The joint online International UAS Exam is on 23 March 2027 (identity checks 10-12 March, results by 14 April 2027). Check the programme’s Studyinfo page to confirm that this programme uses that exam..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens. Lapland UAS charges tuition only to non-EU/EEA students (9,500 euro a year for bachelor’s programmes in 2027-28, with scholarships of up to 20% available to them). Applying through Studyinfo.fi and taking the International UAS Exam have no fee listed on the official pages checked. You still pay for rent, food and living costs in Rovaniemi.
Your Leaving Cert makes you eligible, but it does not earn you a place. Places go on your entrance exam result, so prepare for the online International UAS Exam in March 2027.
