About the course

A Bachelor of Business Administration (210 ECTS, 3.5 years) that combines international business with logistics and supply chain management. It is based at Metropolia’s Myllypuro campus in Helsinki and is taught mainly in English, with many native-English-speaking lecturers.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate that gives you entry to higher education in Ireland. No Finnish body sets minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels, and CAO points are not converted. Ask Metropolia admissions whether any subject is expected.
  • Metropolia lists several ways it selects students: the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027), certificate-based selection, and SAT/ACT or GMAT/GRE results. Check on Studyinfo.fi which one applies to Leaving Cert holders. For most Irish applicants it is the exam.
  • English: you must prove your English even if you are a native speaker. EU/EEA schooling ‘taught and assessed entirely in English’ is generally accepted if your documents show this, so get a letter from your school confirming it. Gaelscoil students should expect to need IELTS or TOEFL. Check the accepted proofs on Metropolia’s FAQ page.

How to apply

  1. Check the programme on Studyinfo.fiFind International Business and Logistics (daytime studies) in the spring 2027 joint application and check which selection method applies to a Leaving Certificate.
  2. Apply on Studyinfo.fiSubmit your application between 7 January (8:00) and 21 January 2027 (15:00 Finnish time).
  3. Upload documents and English proofUpload your school documents and a school letter confirming you were taught and assessed in English, by the deadline Metropolia gives after the application closes.
  4. Sit the entrance examComplete the pre-identification from 10 to 12 March 2027 and take the International UAS Exam online on 23 March 2027. Results are out by 14 April 2027. Then send your final Leaving Cert by Metropolia’s certificate deadline.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: International Business and Logistics is in Metropolia’s Spring Joint Application for the English Degree Programmes, which runs on Studyinfo.fi from 7 January 2027 (8:00) to 21 January 2027 (15:00 Finnish time), for studies starting in autumn 2027. There is also a separate application for international programmes, from 1 December 2026 to 31 March 2027. The online International UAS Exam is on 23 March 2027, and results are out by 14 April 2027..

Costs

  • No tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens. Metropolia’s fees (EUR 11,500 a year for studies starting after 31 July 2027) and its EUR 100 application fee apply only to non-EU/EEA students. Applying through Studyinfo.fi is free for EU citizens.
Your Leaving Cert points are unlikely to decide your place here. Leaving Cert holders are usually ranked by the online International UAS Exam (23 March 2027). The programme page gives the language as ‘English and Finnish’, so ask Metropolia how much, if any, of the course is in Finnish.
