About the course

A 210 ECTS business degree taught in English at the Linnanmaa campus. It covers international sales and marketing using data and digital tools, international trade, business communication and cross-cultural teamwork in Nordic workplaces. It includes company projects, a work placement and a thesis, with options for exchange or a double degree.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • No Finnish body sets minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels, and your CAO points are not converted. A completed Leaving Certificate that gives access to higher education in Ireland should make you eligible. Oamk publishes no Leaving Cert-specific rules, so confirm with admissions@oamk.fi.
  • The Leaving Cert is not one of the certificates used for Oamk’s certificate-based selection (Finnish matriculation, IB, EB, RP/DIA). Irish applicants are therefore normally ranked on the online International UAS Exam (24 of 40 places in 2026) or on SAT scores (minimum 400 in each section, 4 places).
  • English: all applicants, including native speakers, must prove their English before the exam. UASinfo accepts upper secondary schooling from an EU/EEA country if it was taught and assessed entirely in English and the language is clearly shown on your documents. Get a school letter confirming this. Otherwise you need a test such as IELTS Academic 6.0 or TOEFL iBT (60 for tests before 21 Jan 2026, 3.5 on the new scale after that). Gaelscoil students should expect to need a test.

  1. Check the 2027 criteriaFrom late autumn 2026, read Oamk’s joint application admission criteria for this programme and the exact January 2027 dates on Studyinfo.fi.
  2. Get proof of EnglishAsk your school for a letter confirming you were taught and assessed entirely in English, or book IELTS or TOEFL. Upload it by 28 January 2027.
  3. Apply on StudyinfoApply online at Studyinfo.fi during the January 2027 joint application.
  4. Sit the entrance examTake the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027, or send SAT scores if you use that route.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Leaving Cert holders apply through the Finnish joint application on Studyinfo.fi in January. For the 2026 intake this ran 7–21 January 2026. The exact January 2027 dates are not yet published. UASinfo confirms that proof of English must be uploaded by 28 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time. The International UAS Exam is on 23 March 2027. Oamk also runs a separate autumn application round, but only for SAT holders and applicants from certain non-Irish countries..

Costs

  • EU/EEA citizens pay no tuition at Finnish universities of applied sciences, so Irish students should pay nothing. Oamk charges tuition only to students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. Applying through Studyinfo is free. You pay your own living costs in Oulu.
Irish students apply in the January joint application, not the autumn separate round. That round is only for SAT holders and certain non-Irish certificates. Your Leaving Cert points are not used, so prepare for the International UAS Exam. Check Oamk’s certificate deadline against Leaving Cert results day.
