About the course

A 210 ECTS business degree with every course taught in English. It covers international business operations and management and includes projects, an internship, an optional exchange and a bachelor’s thesis.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finnish universities of applied sciences accept a school-leaving qualification that gives eligibility for higher education in the country where it was awarded, so a completed Leaving Certificate that meets Irish college entry rules should count. CAO points are not converted. Confirm with SeAMK admissions (admissions@seamk.fi).
  • Joint application (January 2027): places are decided by an entrance exam, not Leaving Cert points. The main exam for English-taught UAS degrees is the online, remotely proctored International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027. Check the programme’s Studyinfo.fi entry to confirm this is the exam SeAMK uses. Direct Application: there is no exam. You need an average of at least 60% overall and in English and Maths on your school certificate (or an SAT score of 1000+, with 500+ in each section), plus a pass in an online interview. SeAMK does not explain how Leaving Cert grades convert to 60%, and it is unclear whether you can apply before your results issue in August, so ask admissions first.
  • English: Finnish UAS accept an upper secondary qualification completed entirely in English in an EU/EEA country, with a document showing the language of instruction and the country. Get a school letter confirming this, because the Leaving Cert certificate does not say so. Otherwise the minimum test scores are IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60 (or 3.5 on the post-January 2026 scale), PTE Academic 55 or Cambridge 169. Gaelscoil students should expect to need a test. For the joint application, English proof is due by 28 January 2027.

How to apply

  1. Choose your routeApply on Studyinfo.fi through the joint application (7 to 21 Jan 2027) or SeAMK Direct Application (23 Sep 2026 to 22 Apr 2027, one programme only, may close early). The Direct Application needs grades that are already on a certificate, so check with SeAMK whether a Leaving Cert student can use it.
  2. Prepare English proofAsk your school for a letter confirming you were taught and assessed in English. If you cannot get one, book IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL early. For the joint application, it is due by 28 Jan 2027.
  3. Sit the exam or interviewJoint application: take the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027, with results by 14 April. Direct Application: attend a pass/fail online interview on motivation, aptitude and English.
  4. Accept and send your certificateJoint application: results come out by 31 May and you must accept by 13 July 2027. Direct Application: accept within 7 days. Send your Leaving Cert results when they are issued in August, and check SeAMK’s deadline for final certificates.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: There are two routes for autumn 2027 entry. SeAMK Direct Application runs from 23 September 2026 (08:00) to 22 April 2027 (15:00 Finnish time). You can apply to one programme only, and the application period and interview rounds may close early if all places are filled. Selection is based on your grades plus an online interview, held most Tuesdays from October 2026 to May 2027. Results come out the next working day, and you must accept within 7 days. The Finnish joint application on Studyinfo.fi runs from 7 to 21 January 2027 (15:00 Finnish time). English language proof for the joint application is due by 28 January 2027 (15:00). The International UAS Exam is on 23 March 2027, and its results are published by 14 April 2027. Final joint application results come out by 31 May 2027, and you must accept your place by 13 July 2027 (15:00). Studies start in autumn 2027..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens, so Irish students pay nothing. Non-EU/EEA students pay 9,500 euro per academic year. Application fees in Finland apply only to non-EU/EEA applicants.
Your Leaving Cert points do not decide your place. In the January joint application, the entrance exam does. The Direct Application uses grades plus an interview and may close before April if places fill.
