Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate that gives you entry to higher education in Ireland. No Finnish body sets minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels, and CAO points are not converted. TAMK selects in two ways. Rolling admission (15 Nov 2026 – 28 Feb 2027) uses grades from previous education, or SAT scores plus an interview. The January joint application uses the International UAS Exam or SAT scores. Leaving Cert results only come out in August, so ask TAMK admissions whether predicted or in-progress results can be used for rolling admission. If they cannot, the joint application with the UAS Exam is the usual route.
  • English: you must prove your English (International UAS Exam rules accept a recognised language test or previous studies). TAMK asks for language proficiency documents with the application by 21 January 2027. The Leaving Cert certificate does not say it was taught in English, so ask your school for a letter confirming this, or take IELTS or TOEFL. Gaelscoil students should plan on a test.

How to apply

  1. Choose your routeDecide between rolling admission (15 Nov 2026 – 28 Feb 2027, based on grades or SAT plus an interview) and the joint application (7–21 Jan 2027, based on the International UAS Exam or SAT).
  2. Apply on Studyinfo.fiApply through the programme’s Studyinfo.fi page. For the joint application, submit by 21 January 2027 with a passport copy and proof of English.
  3. Interview or examRolling admission: attend an interview if invited (rounds in December, January and February). Joint application: sit the online International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027 at 12:00 Finnish time.
  4. Accept and confirmAccept your offer on Studyinfo.fi, send your final Leaving Cert results when they are issued, and prepare to start in August 2027.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: TAMK has two routes on Studyinfo.fi for August 2027 entry. Rolling admission runs from 15 November 2026 to 28 February 2027, with interview rounds on 8–10 December 2026, 5 and 7–8 January 2027 and 2–4 February 2027. The spring joint application runs 7–21 January 2027: submit your application with a passport copy and proof of English by 21 January. The online International UAS Exam is on 23 March 2027 at 12:00 Finnish time. Final results are expected by early July 2027..

Costs

  • No tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens. TAMK’s page lists a tuition fee of €12,000 per academic year for non-EU/EEA citizens only.
CAO points are not used. Apply early in the rolling round if TAMK will take your grades. Otherwise prepare for the International UAS Exam on 23 March 2027.
