About the course

An English-taught, full-time Bachelor of Engineering (240 ECTS, 4 years) at Turku AMK’s Kupittaa campus. Students specialise in either Dependable Devices or Networks and Cybersecurity. It includes 30 credits of practical training and a 15-credit bachelor’s thesis. EU/EEA students pay no tuition.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate that gives entry to higher education in Ireland. Turku AMK does not publish minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels, and CAO points are not converted. Confirm with Turku AMK admissions.
  • Joint application: in the 2026 round, certificate-based selection was open only to the Finnish Matriculation Exam, IB, EB and RP/DIA. That means Leaving Cert applicants were ranked by SAT score. You needed at least 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Maths. No separate Leaving Cert maths grade was stated, but strong maths is advisable. The 2027 rules had not been published when this was checked.
  • Other routes: Turku AMK’s separate and rolling application rounds have also accepted certificate-based selection with an English certificate, the OMPT test (minimum 55%), or, for engineering, certificate-based selection with an online interview. Check the current round.
  • English: in 2026, SAT applicants needed no separate proof of English. Certificate-based applicants must show English proficiency. Upper secondary school completed in English in an EU/EEA country is accepted, so get a school letter confirming English was the language of instruction. Gaelscoil students may need IELTS (6.0+) or TOEFL.
