About the course

A full-time, English-taught Bachelor of Engineering in Information and Communications Technology at Turku UAS’s Kupittaa campus. It takes 4 years (240 ECTS). Turku UAS lists three English-taught specialisations: Software Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems, and Data Engineering and AI. Studies are on campus and cannot be done fully online.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate if it makes you eligible for higher education in Ireland. No Finnish body sets minimum Leaving Cert grades, subjects or Higher/Ordinary levels (maths included), and your CAO points are not converted or used. Confirm with Turku UAS admissions.
  • In the January 2026 round, Turku UAS filled half the places in its English-taught bachelor’s degrees by SAT scores and half by school certificate. The certificate route took only the Finnish matriculation exam, IB, EB and RP/DIA, so Leaving Cert holders applied through the SAT, with at least 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Maths. The rules for 2027 are not yet published, so check them before you apply.
  • English: in 2026, only certificate-route applicants had to prove their English separately, as set out on UASinfo.fi. SAT applicants did not. Check this for 2027.

How to apply

  1. Choose a specialisationCompare Software Engineering, Cyber-Physical Systems, and Data Engineering and AI on the Turku UAS site, and check the 2027 selection rules.
  2. Take the SATSit the SAT early enough to meet the score deadline. In 2026 you needed at least 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Maths.
  3. Apply on Studyinfo.fiSubmit the joint application between 7 and 21 January 2027. You can list up to six programmes in order of preference.
  4. Send scores and resultsSend your official SAT scores by the deadline. Offers to school leavers depend on your final Leaving Cert, so check when the certificate is due.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: Apply in the spring joint application on Studyinfo.fi, 7-21 January 2027, for studies starting in August/September 2027. In 2026 the round closed at 3pm Finnish time. SAT score and document deadlines for 2027 are not yet published, so check the Turku UAS joint application guide..

Costs

  • No tuition for EU/EEA citizens. Turku UAS charges €12,000 a year only to students from outside the EU/EEA. The application fee also applies only to applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland.
Your Leaving Cert points are not used to rank you. In 2026, Leaving Cert applicants were ranked by the SAT, so check the 2027 rules when they are published.
