About the course

A 240 ECTS software engineering degree taught in English. Years 1-2 cover the foundations, followed by professional studies and a specialisation in either Interactive Systems (XR, robotics and games) or Software Engineering & Project Management (real client projects, AI-assisted development and business skills). It includes 30 ECTS of practical training and a 15 ECTS bachelor’s thesis.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Finland accepts a completed Leaving Certificate that qualifies you for higher education in Ireland. Turku UAS does not set minimum Leaving Cert grades or subjects, and CAO points are not converted. Turku UAS’s certificate-based selection only accepts the Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB and RP/DIA, so Leaving Cert holders compete through the SAT route (half of the places in 2026). The 2026 minimum was 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Math.
  • English: if you apply through the SAT route, Turku UAS asks for no other proof of English. Certificate-based applicants must prove English under the national UAS rules on uasinfo.fi.

How to apply

  1. Take the SATSit the SAT in autumn 2026 and aim for at least 400 in Reading and Writing and 400 in Math. Send your scores from College Board to Turku UAS (code 6867).
  2. Apply on Studyinfo.fiSubmit the joint application between 7 January and 21 January 2027 at 15:00 Finnish time (up to six choices).
  3. Meet the score deadlineMake sure your SAT scores reach Turku UAS by its deadline, which was 28 January in the 2026 round. Check the 2027 date with Turku UAS.
  4. Send final resultsIf you get an offer, send your final Leaving Cert results by the deadline Turku UAS sets. Check this date early, because the results come out in August.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: The Finnish joint application on Studyinfo.fi runs 7-21 January 2027 and closes at 15:00 Finnish time on 21 January. Turku UAS does not use the International UAS Exam for its English-taught bachelor’s degrees. It selects by SAT score or by certificate, and the Leaving Cert is not on its list of accepted certificates. Irish applicants should therefore plan to use the SAT. In the January 2026 round, SAT scores had to reach Turku UAS from College Board (code 6867) by 28 January. Check the 2027 SAT deadline with Turku UAS, and sit the SAT in autumn 2026 so the scores arrive in time..

Costs

  • No tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens. Turku UAS charges tuition only to non-EU/EEA students (EUR 12,000 a year).
Your Leaving Cert points do not rank you here. Irish applicants are selected on their SAT score, so book the SAT early. Ask Turku UAS when your final Leaving Cert certificate is due.
