About the course

Covers controlling, financing, accounting, risk management and strategic management, with real company cases throughout. It is a practical, career-focused degree at a university of applied sciences, and the first year is shared with International Business, Marketing Management, Logistics Management and Logistics Engineering, so you can switch programme without losing time.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • The institution assesses the Irish Leaving Certificate individually and does not publish a fixed Irish requirement. Contact admissions to confirm.
  • No specific maths or other subject requirement is published for international diplomas; Fontys checks your diploma and grade list individually.
  • A minimum level of English is required; Fontys asks for a recognised English certificate unless you are exempt based on your previous education, so check with Fontys whether your Leaving Certificate English counts.

How to apply

  1. Apply on StudielinkRegister and choose Finance & Control (Venlo) on Studielink by 1 June 2027 for a September 2027 start. Have your passport and results ready.
  2. Upload documentsFontys emails you asking for your Leaving Cert results, transcripts and any English evidence. Diploma validation can take up to three weeks.
  3. Book housingIf you want Fontys-arranged housing, apply by 15 June 2027. Housing is limited and not guaranteed.
  4. Admission and enrolmentOnce admitted, arrange tuition fee payment and complete enrolment before the programme starts in September.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: 1 June 2027 for EU/EEA applicants starting in September 2027 (Fontys deadline for international and EEA students; Dutch applicants apply by 1 May). Costs

  • Standard Dutch EU fee: €2,694 (2026/27). The 2027/28 fee is set by the Dutch government each year (expected to be close to €2,800).
  • EU students may be eligible for a Dutch tuition-fee loan (DUO).
Open-entry course: if you meet the requirements, you get a place. The first year is shared with four other business and logistics programmes.
