About the course

A four-year bachelor in business and management at emlyon’s Lyon campus, taught in French or in English (you choose a track). It includes up to 19 months of internships, and up to 75% of your studies can be spent abroad at partner universities or on internships.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • emlyon accepts a final-year high school certificate, the IB or an equivalent certificate. Only holders of a French Baccalauréat must go through the SESAME exam, so Irish Leaving Cert students apply directly. emlyon publishes no Leaving Cert grade or subject rule, so ask admissions how it assesses your Higher Level results.
  • Selection uses an application review plus an online admission test: managing an inbox of messages, interactive meetings with avatars, a written report and a recorded video interview with timed answers.
  • English: emlyon’s programme page says your English is judged during the application review and a TOEFL is not mandatory. Its BBA guide says English-track applicants need IELTS, TOEFL or an equivalent. Ask admissions whether Leaving Cert English is enough before you book a test.

How to apply

  1. Check the 2027 sessionsLook up the 2027 admission session dates on the Global BBA page. Aim for the first session (likely late 2026) to get the 10% tuition reduction for international students.
  2. Apply onlineCreate an account on emlyon’s applicant dashboard, pick the English track and upload your school reports and predicted or actual Leaving Cert results.
  3. Sit the digital testDo the online admission test from home: inbox exercise, avatar meetings, written report and video interview.
  4. Accept and payIf you get an offer, pay the deposit and confirm your place. Then arrange accommodation in Lyon for the September 2027 start.
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: emlyon runs several admission sessions rather than one deadline. The programme page lists the next intake as September 2027 but still says sessions run from November 2025 to July 2026, which looks like last cycle’s wording. Expect sessions from about November 2026 to July 2027, but confirm the dates with emlyon. Applying in the first session gives international students 10% off tuition..

Costs

  • emlyon lists €15,500 a year for students entering first year in the 2027 intake (€15,050 tuition plus €450 general administrative fees). The same fee applies to EU and non-EU students. It is a private business school, so there is no state-funded place. International students admitted in the first admissions session get 10% off tuition. No application fee is stated on the programme page.
This is a private school costing about €15,500 a year, with no free places. It does hold the state ‘grade de licence’ and RNCP level 6 registration (RNCP36325), so the degree is officially recognised.

Checked against the official emlyon business school website: September 2026 (2027 entry). The fees are for the 2027 intake, but the session dates shown were still last cycle’s, so confirm the 2027 dates. Always confirm details with the university before applying.
