About the course

A multidisciplinary social sciences bachelor covering subjects such as politics, economics, law, history and sociology, with a regional focus that depends on the campus. Only two options are taught in English with no French required: the Le Havre campus and the North America minor at the Reims campus.

Entry requirements for Irish students

  • Sciences Po’s international pathway is for applicants preparing a foreign (non-French) secondary school diploma only, so the Leaving Certificate is eligible. Sciences Po publishes no Leaving Cert grade, subject or Higher Level rule, and there is no national rule in France, so confirm with Sciences Po admissions how your Higher Level results are assessed.
  • Selection is on the written application, with an admission interview for shortlisted candidates.
  • English: a C1 level is required for Le Havre and the Reims North America minor, assessed especially at the interview. No language certificate is required at application, though test scores may be added. French is not required for these two options.

How to apply

  1. Choose the campusOnly Le Havre and the Reims North America minor are taught in English with no French. Dijon, Nancy and Poitiers need French C1 or French B1 plus English C1; Paris needs French C1.
  2. Apply onlineSubmit on the Sciences Po admissions website through the international pathway. The 2026 window was 30 October 2025 to 10 March 2026; check the 2027 dates in autumn 2026.
  3. InterviewShortlisted applicants are interviewed; your English is assessed at C1 level, largely during the interview.
  4. Accept and plan feesIf admitted, submit tax household income documents so Sciences Po can set your fee (€0 to €12,363 in 2026-27 for EU/EEA tax households).
Deadline for Irish/EU applicants: For September 2026 entry the international pathway opened on 30 October 2025 and closed on 10 March 2026 at 11:59pm Paris time. Expect a similar autumn-to-March window for 2027 entry; confirm once Sciences Po publishes the 2027 dates..

Costs

  • For students whose tax household is in the EU/EEA, fees depend on household resources: from €0 to €12,363 a year in 2026-27 (€0 for resources of €12,583 or less; the top rate applies from €66,584). Fees are based on where the tax household is resident, not nationality. Tax households outside the EU/EEA pay a flat €14,900. No application fee is stated on the pages checked.
Only the Le Havre campus and the Reims North America minor are fully English-taught; every other Sciences Po campus needs French. Fees for EU/EEA tax households are income-based, up to €12,363 a year.
